At the same time, we also pick specific times of the past and certain incidents that we think not only affect the present, but are the cause of it.

When Understanding Becomes Possible

 

We usually say, “I don’t understand.”
More often we mean, “I don’t agree.”
Or, more subconsciously, “What I’m understanding makes me uncomfortable.”

So what is understanding?

On Self-Relation

 

Something is off in how we communicate today — and it shows up in two opposite ways. On one side, there is constant talking: commentary, opinions, positions, explanations. On the other, there is a growing silence: people disappearing from conversations, from participation, from contact.

Noise can be empty, and silence can be a form of withdrawal rather than peace.
