”And if the experiment fails,
It’s like being the first person on the moon.
Hopefully, we’ll learn something from it.
That’s how science works, doesn’t it?”
What’s important, from what I’ve seen, is the “in-between”. Not the lukewarm or compromise, but the synthesis. The bridge—the third created space from the joining of two.
In color, when you mix blue and red, you get purple. When you mix yellow and blue, you get green. A new color.
Most people just mix white or black, and everything begins to wither into shades of the same color.
You don’t create without a third element - you repeat, decay, wither.
Communication isn’t about off-loading, persuading, converting, condemning, persuading, reassuring, comforting, manipulating, validating, recruiting. All that is what we have been mastering for millennia.
Communication, in its true form, is meant to change you, strip you, expand you, open you, purify you, transform you. It is rarely allowed.
Each communication should be an adventure, a journey, a discovery, a releasing, a transformation. Most people are too rigid to allow that. Too molded, too insecure, too formed. They’re afraid they’ll break, they’ll disappear. They hold on to the form but forget or lose the essence that never forms, never materializes. They keep chasing forms, hoping they can hold on to them forever.
Communication has been standardized. There’s a right way to respond to almost everything, so everyone can remain safe within the parameters of accepted exchange.
That violates the spirit of communication, blocks innocent inquiry—our natural state of being. It creates imaginary distances and raises walls that keep others out.
The between…
Where paradox lives, where innocence returns, where synthesis creates, where the new is born.
